Tempeh Without Borders : Plating, Snapping, and Writing Tips 🍛📷

As my promise that I have told you through Tempeh Without Borders: The June Tempeh Marathon! :globe_showing_europe_africa::seedling: and to support Challenge for The June Tempeh Marathon #MONOLOGUE, I am going to share regarding The Plating, Snapping, and Writing Tips from a Foodie Local Guide perspectives.

Before continuing with my tips, I highly recommend you to read about tempeh from the medical perspectives by @doc_dells Tempe(h) Without Borders: Why it considered as a Medical Marvel:stethoscope::seedling::globe_showing_europe_africa:
I believe after you read her post, you will be 100% sure to consume tempeh, and even join this challenge :wink: (yes, please :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

Okay, let’s continue with the tips!

:light_bulb::curry_rice: PLATING

  • If there is main dish with carbo (for example rice, noodle, etc), serve the main dish or toppings over the carbo, you could also serve it in separate plate or bowl.

  • If there are many toppings in one dish, consider to use bigger plate or bowl, makesure that each topping can be served neatly and seen clearly.

  • Makesure the plate, bowl, cup, or the media that serves the food is clean. If there is a stain or oil, you could use the napkin to clean it.

:light_bulb::camera: SNAPPING

  • Check the lighting of the room and surrounding. If the lighting is not light enough, you could use additional lighting with the flashlight from another phone or lighting tools.
    (:light_bulb: PRO TIPS : In photography, natural lighting is THE BEST.)

  • Makesure the surrounding area for photography is clean.

  • Collaborating with plating, If you want to capture many dishes in one frame, put the most interesting dishes or the ones that you want to highlight in the front to middle position.

  • When capturing one dish with the rice, focusing the camera more on the dish rather than the rice.

:light_bulb::writing_hand: WRITING

Voila! After doing the plating and snapping, it’s time to share our review on Google Maps. In this writing tips, I am going to focus more on the food review rather than the other aspects of the restaurant or dining place.

  • Mentioning what kind of food that the place provide. For example : origin or fusion, full package from appetizer to desserts, Halal or Non Halal, Vegetarian, etc.

  • If you tried many foods, giving a brief description of the foods that you want to highlight. Example :
    “Defined by its milky, soul-warming broth created by boiling chicken bones for over 12 hours. It’s a masterclass in umami, served with springy thin noodles, melt-in-your-mouth chicken, and a jammy, soy-marinated soft-boiled egg.”

  • When you tried many foods, mentioning the overall taste. After that, giving the foods recommendation that we have to try. This will be very helpful, especially for the first time visitor.

I hope this tips will be very helpful for you to participate in #MONOLOGUE The June Tempeh Marathon Challenge and your food review contributions on Google Maps.

Feel free if you want to ask any questions or discussions on the comment below :blush:
