āThe Miracle of Google Mapā
One day I set out to visit my friendās house, who had shifted to a new area. I had never seen that place before, so I took the help of Google Map.
I was on a scooter and set the destination in Google Map and left. The map showed me a shortcut, which was going through a narrow lane. I thought, āI will reach faster through the shortcut,ā and turned into that lane.
There was a small river-like stream flowing in the middle of the lane. The map told me to go straight across it. It felt a bit strange, but I thought that maybe the route was right. I stopped the scooter near the river and looked at the Google Map again. Then I realized that the Google Map is trying to take me through a waterless place without a bridge!
The local people there stopped me and laughingly said, āBhai, donāt rely on this Google Map, only the villagers use this route when the water dries up.ā I realized that the map had taken me to the wrong place.
After that, with the help of those people, I found the right route and reached my friendās house. I learned from Google Map that you should not trust every shortcut!

It is an interesting story and also quite a common experience @abdulsubhanraza
I too remember taking a Google Maps route though not necessarily following it.
Google Maps is a guide, but we have to keep our eyes open and use our discretion.

While navigating, you can live report issues such as road closures and accidents.
See Report traffic incidents during navigation
Or you can Report wrong directions in Google Maps
Or you can edit the road: Add or fix a road in Google Maps
Or you can send feedback in the app:
All of these are pretty advanced features, so you may need to spend some time getting to know them.

And other navigation apps also show Google name in their navigation.Which to less educated people seems like Google Map.And let me share another information with you, does Google Map navigation look like this

You may not be aware that other apps and websites can develop services based on Google Maps data. And they pay a fee to Google for this. As far as I know the Uber app is one such example.

Thank you for sharing your expertise, sir. But please remember that those who need the most assistance are those who have studied less.(specialy Indian sub continent (Drivers) ) They may believe that this is Google when they see the Google logo, but they are unaware of this. @MortenCopenhagen sir ,

Being a newcomer to the App & this community my experiences may be somewhat underwhelming compared to a Level 10 with far more experience, such as yourself.
Posing a question as way of introduction opens up a dialog for future hope & anticipations - the sage advice may be fitting here, āGod gave us two ears and one mouth, so we can listen twice as much as we speakā.

I agree with you @TusharSuradkar
Iām a long-time professional Wazer. I use Waze wherever I go, and if I use Google Maps for navigation, I switch Waze on as well for comparison. There are errors with the Google choice of route almost every time.
