Hi, again! I hope that the world is so patient to wait my post on Local Guides Connect.
As I said in my precious post, I’m always loving the traditional food, drink, or dessert in my country. I can eat that kind of my happiness every day.
Now, I want to share about one of the traditional drink or dessert (maybe) near to my home. Related with the title, you can guess what it is.
Ya, it is Tauwa. As I know from google, tauwa come from China. Actually, Tauwa have another name, like Tahwa, Tauhue, Wedang Tahu. Whatever the names, in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia, it is usually called Tauwa.
Tauwa is peddled with the cart on motorcycles.
Not difficult to make Tauwa in home, because it only need four main ingredients to make it.
You just need soy milk, powdered gelatin, and warm water.
Ah! Don’t forget to add the sweet ginger syrup to give your body still warm. In Sidoarjo, the heavy rain is often happening. So, the people choose to drink this to make the body warm.
Usually, Tauwa is served on the bowl with Chinese spoon or in Indonesia it is called “sendok bebek” or “duck spoon” in English.
The taste of Tauwa is full of ginger because the tofu pudding is so plain.
So, my father usually gives the tips to get the extra pleasure of drinking Tauwa. You can eat deep fried peanuts when you drink it.
In Sidoarjo, a bowl of Tauwa is sold around 5.000 until 7.000 rupiah. It’s very cheap. That’s why I can eat Tauwa every day!
