Tale of Two States: Part Two

  • This is a follow-up post referring to a Road-Trip from St. Pete, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Though it can be read as an individual article, I am adding a link to Part I for your reference.

Because The Happy Phenomena(Fall, Foliage) left me with no choice but to Snapshot it, I was left with an iPhone overloaded with endless beautiful images. Meanwhile-

‘iCloud storage is full’

-popped up on the screen. Spent a few hours scrutinizing the images & editing them concurrently. At the crack of dawn, I was all set for my upcoming escapade. Soon after, I swaddled myself in cozy winter clothing, braced to reach atop the mountain. So…

  • Scarf checked
  • Cozy Socks checked
  • Hat checked
  • Backpack checked
  • Digital Eye checked
    We’re Ready to Roll.

This day, I(we) were to hike through the trails to end up at the Lookout Mountain’s Zenith. Rock City Gardens, Chattanooga, Tennessee was next in line.

Hiking through the Serpentine Trails farther up-to a Long Wobbly Wooden bridge over adjoining mountains leading us to the pinnacle, we finally made it to the Top which was surprisingly a Whole New World.

You know what was more electrifying! — All the trails, aesthetically ornamented, Imported German Gnomes placed with such perfection that one can’t just go past them without appreciating.

Most importantly, the seasonal Christmas decor & enchanted Lights displaying Childhood stories.

Another fascinating thing about Rock City was Weird Rock formations having bizarre names like- “Fat Man’s Squeeze”. I am sure the name gives you a clear picture of what it might be like.

It is claimed that Seven Different States (Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Tennesse, Kentucky, NC & SC) can be seen from a certain point called Lover’s Leap, however, to be honest, I could(not) see any of it.

While most of the time I was bending over backward to lock the serenity and dreamlike sight in my digital eye, the truth is, I wished to somehow cease the moment of surrealism. But Nope! I simply couldn’t.

The mist of hot cocoa on my face in the freezing yet euphoric weather, while standing at the observation point was probably what heaven may feel like. People all around me clicking selfies, group-fies & I being one of those, attempting to fill up all the beauty into my backpack on the way back home. Somewhere I realized–

The human-made digital eye can never replace the genuineness, the purity, human eyes can perceive.

However, on a happy note, I encapsulated my whole experience and have the uttermost pleasure to present it to you through this platform.

Eventually, wrapped up our journey, touched down the palm trees and warm weather once again in St. Petersburg, FL.

P.S- The Rock City Garden, & Ruby Falls, are fractions of the Lookout Mountain.
Some other nearby attractions include-- Incline Railway, Sunset Rock & Battles for Chattanooga Museum.

A true journey I believe is Not just Locking Tons of beauteousness in a camera or a phone but also Feeling every bit of it.

I still wonder how this one Short Vacation provided me with a rush of feelings & metaphors all at the same time–

The feeling of being on the Top (of the Mountains),
The feeling of a Wobbly Walk (on the Clouds),
The Sense of living in the Dream,
The Sound of Peacefulness.

In the end, the feeling of Contentment that I didn’t come home empty-handed, instead, I earned myself Memories of a Lifetime, experience, & Souvenirs of course.

This was my Not so Little Tale of Two States – A series of Happy Accidents(Fall Foliage) and Fortuity.

I had already jotted down reviews for the aforementioned place, plus, you can also check out my contributions as a Local Guide here.

Thank you again. @Abhisheksenthil

I appreciate your time!

This happens to me so often, so in a way I can relate to what you’re saying. Not always it is possible to capture the emotions that a gorgeous landscape is making you feel with a camera, but still you’ve described your feelings so well that I could almost picture it in my mind and I also want to point out that your photos are actually really beautiful. The most wonderful thing in this situation is that you enjoyed every bit of your trip and you’ve created some wonderful memories that will last you for a lifetime.

Thank you so much @ReemaGandhi for sharing the second part of your trip with the community on Connect!

Thank you much @KlaudiyaG for your time. Your expressions mean immense to me!

These tales, in all respects, represent my feelings of a particular setting.

Although, my eyes absorb the irresistible charm around, my mind simply locks the spectacular sights I experience & not to mention the camera, it portrays, in a way, how I see the whole world.

I believe that’s how it works, we witness the world around us, capture certain moments & relish it forever. Isn’t it?
