Taj Ul Masajid Crown Mosque.

Taj Ul Masajid, Central Mihrab, Bhopal MP India.

Taj Ul Masajid also known as the Crown of the Mosques, largest in India and third largest in the World. Work was commenced by the third lady ruler Nawab Shah Jahan Begum in 1844 later by Sultan Jahan Begum. And finally it was completed in 1985 with great efforts of Maulana Imran Khan and Maulana Sayed Hashmat Ali.
It’s built on a raised platform, huge square walled courtyard with ablution tank. Eastern gate is 74’ feet high with ancient Syrian Motifs. Main prayer hall can be accessed via Grand magnificent central archways and four each at the right and the left side. Its roof is supported with 27 hollow domes, arches and with pillars having Islamic and Mughal motifs. Right side is reserve for the veiled ladies to offer the Salat, having stone screens. Two tall minarets about 18-storeyed with marble domes, and three large domes. This is well decorated and ornate place of Worship, great religious and theological centre, tourists are welcome and guide facility is available. Parking and attraction both are accessible by wheel chair.
It is a major attraction, and an example of excellent architecture. All facilities like drinking water, washrooms and canteen are available. In fact, I feel bliss after offering prayers and attending the sermon in this grand heritage mosque. Friday prayer is held at 01:15 PM. Very attractive heritage, and very popular, on tourist Itinerary and major ingredient of the heritage walk.
