A nice place for family or hiking or a little stop by. The place is very natural and calm and quiet. I prefer the sunset time so that you can see the city view both in day lights and night view. Also the sunset colour is so mesmerising and can take you to a magical moments as you can see the sun sinking behind the hills. Not too much walking required, so it’s pretty good place for bringing children or old people. But definitely you need a jacket as the air is really fresh but cold.
Hello @DSSoha ,
Thank you for sharing these photos. The sunset is truly amazing! Were you able to take a photo of the city during the day? Do you know the story of the memorial cross?
My favorite picture, first one, a silluet man with beautiful color sunset, and how many time walking for reach this place?
thank you for awesome shot @DSSoha
@DSSoha I also like the 1st photo, same as @Nyainurjanah . What camera did you use? Nice shots. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Mount Macedon is a great place @DSSoha if you’d been there a week before these were taken it was covered in snow.
Great to meet another Melbourne Local Guide.

Great photos @DSSoha . I see @MoniDi asked about the story of the cross, also, not far from there you may have visited Hanging Rock! There’s a very interesting story about a Picnic at Hanging Rock. As well as a novel, there was alaos a film made about this unsolved mystery!
Thank you @MoniDi . I already have city’s picture, but they are captured a few months ago, before winter time. But I would love to share them with you. And sadly I don’t know brief history about the memorial cross. What I know is this memorial cross is very significant and listed on Victorian Heritage Registere. It was made in honour of those who lost their lives in world war 1.
I have attached some daytime picture of Cityview here. Thanks again for appreciation
Thank you @Nyainurjanah . I actually drove to Macedon regional Park. Than there is a little gate which welcome people to those lookouts, trails and memorial cross. You will find the major Mitchell lookout and with 450m. You can take other long hiking trails to enjoy wildlife and forest.
Thank you @Ant_Bad_Yogi I clicked this picture with my ‘Samsung Galaxy Note 8’ phone camera. Instead of using auto mode, I did set up on the Pro before taking the picture. Though I have Nikon D90. But sometimes I love to take pictures on phone.
Ohhhh!!! I really missed it than thank you for the information @PaulPavlinovich sure next time I’ll try to catch that view.
Wow! I didn’t know about the Novel and the story. Thank you for the information @AdamGT . Definitely I want to know the story. I visited hanging Rock long time ago. Sure will visit again.
You can definitely read about the story on the net @DSSoha and then of course there is the novel, Picnic at Hanging Rock!
Hello @DSSoha ,
Thanks for the additional photos, they are beautiful. My favourite one is the second - I love the pink colours in the sky.
I am waiting for your next stories.
