Sundial in a Technology Science Park

Sundials are ancient devices which are used to check the time of a day with the help of sunlight depending on the position of the :sunglasses: in the sky.

In the photographs, you can see a beautiful sundial positioned in a technology Science park. A metal rod is positioned parallel to the ground surface to cast its shadow onto the curved shaped dial. Both English and Arabic numerals are written on the dial to facilitate the checking of time. A metal plate is casted on the foundation of the curved dial with the information related to the “time corrections” related to the months and geographical location of the place (Latitude 26N, Longitude 50E), the information is available in both English and Arabic language.

I used Samsung S8+ cellphone camera to capture this shot.

Nice Sundial…

I would like to share that we have a big Sundial and an observatory in Jaipur, Rajasthan also. It is known as Jantar Mantar.

That’s a very good question @Nyainurjanah Sundial requires the sunlight to work and reflect the shadow on the dial which is possible only during the daytime, So this device won’t be working accurately during the night unless the moon is sufficiently lighten-up by the sun and the pin cast the shadow on the dial due to moons brightness.

Thanks for the comment @AnushPaaliwal Yes, I have heard about the beautiful Jantar Mantar in the pink city (Worlds largest sundial).

Lovely sundial in the middle of streets @fasi6083

Is that a Science Park campus or a public road?

I have been to both the Jaipur Jantar Mantar and the Delhi Jantar Mantar where the Sundial is just one of the astronomical constructs.

Here’s a photo from the article I wrote last month.

Thanks for sharing the article @TusharSuradkar That’s a Technology science park with many top reputed companies from both upstream and downstream oil-gas technologies.

I read somewhere about the world’s largest sundial which is there in Jaipur, India.
