Hi @DanniS ,

It’s kairi ( green mango ). In summer we eat this with salt and red chilli powder just to enjoy the taste of green mango. It’s very tasty :yum:. If it is available at your locality then I recommend you to try this if you like taste of green mangoes. We use kairi for making pickle, chutney, and in other day to day meals like in pulses etc. It just gives sour taste which increases the taste of meals. Indians use it a lot in summer. I am straight forward supporter of exotic and new foods. I have never heard of the combination of mango and salt. I think it’s like combining watermelon with white cheese, I guess. :smiley: What does the green mango taste like, @Anijais13 ? Is it sour or is it sweet?

Wow @Anijais13 , I certainly can say that never crossed my mind mixing a fruit with salt and chili power, that’s really interesting. =) I got very curious about the taste though, would love to try it one day.

Is that because the mango fruit is still green or are these special kind of mango, @Anijais13 ? I have conflict information on Google and I think some fellow Local Guide assistance will be handy :smiley:

I see. Thanks for sharing @Anijais13 . This is a new exotic dish I can try in near future which is also easy to prepare at home and to even find the ingredients in store. Cooking can be so much fun even with the Local Guide, isn’t that right? :slight_smile:

@FelipePK I think every summer fruit, like water melon, guava, pears, raw mangoes, star fruit etc., tastes better with some rock salt, chilli powder and lemon juice :slight_smile:

@Anijais13 I love kairi with salt and lemon juice, I also love to eat amda, but I have no clue what it is called in English :stuck_out_tongue:
