Brief Information about the subject and content of the museum
Süleyman the Magnificent, who was born and raised in Trabzon, is also important for the people of Trabzon. Ortahisar is where Kanuni was born and raised and lived until he was 15. Kanuni House is one of the historical Turkish houses in Ortahisar. The House of Kanuni contains wax sculptures of Ottoman sultans Fatih Sultan Mehmet, Yavuz Sultan Selim and Suleiman the Magnificent, as well as paintings on Ottoman history, books on Trabzon and Ottoman history.
Quick Information about the Museum Building
Stone material was used in the structure built with masonry construction system. The building consists of a basement, a ground floor, a normal floor and a roof floor. All facades are plastered. The main and basement floor entrance of the building is located on the eastern facade. The roof of the building is a broken roof and the roof is covered with alaturka tile. While the roof has narrow eaves, the bottom of the eaves is covered with wooden material. The square-plan structure has four rooms opening to the entrance hall on the ground floor and one toilet corresponding to the gold of the rotary staircase. The normal floor, which is reached by a rotating stairway, has four rooms opening to the sofa area, while the room next to the stairway that leads to the attic has its own toilet. Just above the entrance is the balcony on the normal floor covered with glass.
