Hi
I would like to suggest some improvements for the “Edits” section in Google Maps. Currently, the layout feels cluttered and makes it difficult for users to find and review their edits efficiently.
Here are the main issues I have noticed:
-
All edits (accepted, pending, and not accepted) appear in a single long list, which is confusing and time-consuming to navigate.
-
Road edits and place edits are not clearly separated, making it harder to track specific types of changes.
-
The names of edited roads are not displayed. Instead, when clicking on a road edit, the map often jumps to a random location with a blank blue screen. This makes it impossible to identify which road was edited.
Suggestion:
I recommend redesigning the “Edits” section to make it more user-friendly. For example:
Separate road edits and place edits into different tabs.
Add filters for “Accepted,” “Pending,” and “Not accepted.”
Display the name of the road or place directly in the list of edits.
I have also prepared a sample design mockup (attached) to illustrate this suggestion.
This redesign would make the editing experience much clearer, faster, and easier for all users.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
Best regards,
[Nima]
