'Sugandha Multipurpose Public Toilet' will bring comfort to travelers in Cox's Bazar!

For the convenience of tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar Sea beach, the “Sugandha Multipurpose Public Toilet” was established next to Sugandha Beach.

Recently, the facility, built at the initiative of the Cox’s Bazar District Commissioner and in collaboration with UNICEF, was opened to all.

Female travelers arriving at the beach lack access to minimal sanitation services, leaving thousands, especially women and children, deprived of safe and dignified alternatives. This new facility helps meet the need for clean, safe, and more accessible sanitation for all.

Many users are served here in the winter and holiday seasons. The facility provides clean, safe, and inclusive services, which include disabled-friendly toilets, menstrual hygiene facilities, safe drinking water, prayer spaces, bathing and handwashing stations, breastfeeding and lockers, laundry, and much more, which is a major milestone in improving public wash services in one of the busiest tourist destinations in Bangladesh. map location.

Greetings @Pankaj_Sarker from Luweero, Uganda! :uganda::handshake::bangladesh:

As a Level 7 Guide, I have so much respect for the work you do documenting public toilets and accessibility. :round_pushpin: While many guides only focus on ‘fancy’ restaurants, you are focusing on a basic human right—clean and accessible facilities. It is cheerful to see such a high-quality ‘oasis’ in your city; your photos prove that even the most simple places can be documented with dignity and care! :camera_with_flash::sparkles:

It makes me a bit sad to realize, however, how far behind we sometimes feel here in my region. :wilted_flower: Mapping these essential spots in Uganda often feels like a solo mission, and seeing the ‘inclusive’ progress you’re making in Bangladesh makes me wish I had a partner like you to help survey the streets of Luweero. :man_walking::broken_heart:

Thank you for reminding us all that every contribution—no matter how small or ‘unglamorous’—makes the world a better place for everyone. I’m cheering you on as I work toward my Level 8 badge! :military_medal::raising_hands:

Keep up the vital work, brother! :dove: #AccessibilityForAll #LocalGuidesBD #UgandaToBangladesh #CleanWater

Hello @Pankaj_Sarker
I agree with @Henry_Ssekisambu. Thank you for going beyond the conventional and making a wonderful post. A toilet has been installed in Cox’s Bazar, the world’s longest sea beach, which many people still don’t know about. I hope many people will benefit from your post.
Happy Guiding~
