StreetView studio 360 video

Uploading 360 photos to the old StreetView counts as Google Maps contributions and I’m getting 5 points for each approved photo.

In the new StreetView Studio we have to upload a 360 video. It will be split in several 360 photos. These photos counts as Googlw Maps contributions? Do I get 5 points for each photo?

Thanks

@RaduD , What is changed between the previous way to add a blue line and the new one is that at the beginning we were adding Connected photos, and now we add videos. The procedure changed well before the migration to Street View Studio, as you know already. Street View studio is just a different tool, performing one of the actions previously in charge at the Street View App: Uploading geotagged 360 degrees videos, to transform them in blue lines.

In fact we had the same conversation one year ago, and the answer was no, the photos added at a street level do not count as Maps contributions.

As you are also a SVTP, please visit the Street View trusted Help Center, for following all the details about the evolution of the Street View program

  1. I wanted to know if I get points for each photo extracted from my video. (this is still not clear for me). They will appear in my Google Maps contributions?

  2. Not being able to edit/patching the nadir it is a drawback too.

@RaduD , it would be great if you tag the person you are taking to, as it will make the conversation easier. Active members follow a lot of posts, and they can miss a reply if they are not tagged.

Please do not confuse single 360 photos or Virtual tour added to a listing with a blue line.

  • Blue lines never received points, even when added as “Connected Photos”.

What is changed is only the procedure to acquire the blue lines, not the point system.

So no, you are not receiving points for adding blue lines, nor you were receiving points in the past for the same process with connected photos.

You receive points only for contributions added to a listing in Google Maps, including 360 photos or virtual tour (connected 360 photos)

  • There are several editing software for adding a circular image on the nadir. With a search on the web for sure you will find what you are looking for.

Hope my answer is more clear now

@ErmesT

Sorry about not tagging you. I’m not very active on this platform.

Thanks for all your infos. Making blue lines is not very attractive for me. It takes time an effort to make it right. I take hi res quality photos, I edit the nadir, I publish them with paid subscription of GoThru Pro. Maybe Google will change his policy in the future.
