You can collect Street View imagery at street level using the Street View App and a 360 camera to collect the imagery in “Video mode”. For the detailed description please read: Capture and publish in Video mode with the Street View app
In some countries is also available a pilot project to use your mobile with the Street View App for connecting photos.

This is the first time I am reading about the Street View explorer badge. I have just calculated that I have added more than 20km of Google Street View imagery using my 360 camera. Never saw mentioned Explorer badge. I have Google Trusted Photographer badge, but I guess @parthapratim134 didn’t ask about that one since he is mentioning the 1km milestone, and Trusted Photographer badge is asking for 50 approved photos and not kilometers.
Is it a geo-locked achievement or limited to Android phones so that I can’t see or get this badge in Croatia on iOS?
Edit: Just read this article and I guess it’s only for Android users for now as I don’t see any new features or design mentioned there

Honestly I am not sure that the first function (video mode) is for Android only, I think it is available also for iOS but, being an Android user, I’ve never tried to do it on iOS

As mentioned in my reply, I have more than 20km of blue line added to Google Maps. “How-to” was not part of my question. But I found an answer in your link. Street View update regarding redesign, new features and new badges is only for Android users for now. Although, last iOS update for Street View was two months ago, there is still no new features there.

I have the same question, but this doesn’t answer it. What do s it take to get the km? I’ve taken plenty of 360 pictures that have been uploaded and viewed thousands of times, but I haven’t been awarded any distance. How does a person get the kilometer. Or, I’m happy with a mere meter.
