Have you ever seen a hotel like this? All painted in murals/street art, not by the hooligans, but by an artist? As a huge street art fan, I always do some research before my travels to find out where I can find the best murals in my destinations. How surprised I was to discover this place!!! I havenāt found any information about it before. When I arrived in Cyprus in March 2023 I saw Rise Street Art Hotel on my first day there, but meeting with the muralsā author, was the cherry on top of my visit. On my last day, I was taking pictures of more street art in Larnaca when I run into an artist, who was just in the middle of painting his new mural. He turned out to be a famous muralist - Paparazzi (Achilleas Michaelides), whose work Iāve seen all over the island. I was invited to check out his Paparazzi art studio and we had an opportunity to chat for a while. Achilleas is a creator of murals on Rise Street Art Hotel, which I saw on my first day in Cyrus. He gave me some advice: to visit the hotel you donāt need to book a room there, but you can go there to have a drink in the hotel bar, located on the 6th floor, to admire paintings inside the building. My bad, I had no more time before my flight back home, so I need to put it on my bucket list and go back to Cyprus in the future.
Cyprus has hosted several street art festivals, so thanks to them you can step upon many beautiful street art pieces, made by many muralists from all over the World. You can find them in Larnaca, Paphos, Limassol and Aiya Napa. For more street art photos visit my Insta @streetart.heaven
Would you like to stay in the Street Art Hotel like this? Have you ever spent a night in a hotel with an art theme? Please leave a comment and photo to share it with us.
Hi @AniaKiser these hotels look really beautiful with stunning murals. I have never seen a hotel with murals like this before. I have seen few murals/graffiti art work on the building wall but never on hotel. These murals does give a nice character to these hotels i guess. I will share murals when i get a good one here. Thanks for sharing it with us.
@AnithaM Itās one hotel only in the pictures. The rest photos are regular murals Iāve seen in Cyprus. Thank you for your comment, when you post something about street art, please tag me, so I wonāt miss it.
Oh i see @AniaKiser Sorry i assumed them to be hotels my bad. Thanks for clarifying. But yes they do look beautiful. Definitely i will tag you. I have seen in the downtown Phoenix ( Arizona ), i will share it when i take pics for sure.
I actually visited Cyprus right before the end of December and saw this wonderful hotel on my way to the beach. Havenāt really seen anything like this wonderful huge street art, ever. Iām also looking to visit Cyprus again, have you saved any interesting places you found while visiting? Also, have you noticed the abnormal amount of cats all over the streets?
@Lukas_1 This time Iāve visited Cyprus only for four days, so next time Iād like to explore more, especially the northern part. I enjoyed Nissi Beach and Blue Lagoon the most. To be honest I expected more cats there What was your favorite part of the island?
@TerryPG Thank you for your comment. I was happy to find some many murals in Cyprus. Many artists left their āfootprintsā after Street Art festivals.
I love murals. It is an art within everyoneās reach.
The murals make the city really interesting. Iāve never been to Cyprus, your post inspires me to put Cyprus on a list as a place to visit in the future.
Last year I discovered a small town in Sardinia full of murals, Tinnura. I think the City with the murals highlights their existence a lot.
@DENIT33 Thank you for sharing the info about Sardiniaās murals. Canāt wait to visit these villages in person. In May Iām going to Sicily, have you been there? Any tips for me about street art? I will be visiting Catania, Taormina and Syracuse.
Hi @AniaKiser wonderful walls. Iām in cyprus this summer. I wanted to go south from the northern part. But entry is not allowed due to political reasons. Therefore, I couldnāt see these beauties. I hope one day we can arrange a meeting in the northern part.
@Gezendunyali As you already know, I was visiting only the Greek part of the island, but Iām pretty sure there are some murals in the northern part, too. Next time Iāll explore them.
Hi @AniaKiser I love āSicilyā. Iāve been there twice, but I havenāt been to the Syracuse area, which is full of baroque buildings.
For me Sicily is far from where I live, I live in northern Italy, towards Venice.
What I can suggest is to taste the food, their specialties: āArancinoā in Catania, the āGranita of Almondsā, the āCannolo Sicilianoā, the āCassata Sicilianaā, the āChocolate of Modicaā etcā¦
Then you have to go to the sea to see the beaches and if possible have a nice swim.
For the murals I donāt know if there are any.
I wish you a good journey.
