Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, a picturesque twin hill stations in India’s Western Ghats in Maharashtra, are well known for their spectacular beauty and fresh products. I have already covered one of the heritage hotels in Panchgani. This time I will try to share my most favorite dessert from Mahabaleshwar - panchgani, "Fresh strawberries with Cream and Ice cream".

The combination of fresh strawberries, cream, and ice cream is the most popular dessert.
It is the ultimate combination of sweet and creamy tastes. The whipped cream-topped fresh strawberries are arranged on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream. “Simply irresistible” is the contrast between the chilly ice cream and the fresh strawberries.
A Strawberry Cream served at , Mapro Food Park a most**popular chain of outlets of Mapro Foods in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani area. You can see my daughter just patiently waiting for me finishing the photo. 
You know, my family was always used to get angry whenver I click the dishes before serving because they couldn’t wait but now since I started posting here and my Local Guide level is upgraded, they have a tendency to be linient with me.

. This is at Garden Green House Strawberry Farm & Restaurant at Old Mahabaleshwar road.
There is another famous chain of restaurant called Bagicha Corner in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. You will find it always crowded anytime. UnfortunatelyI couldn’t click any photos of it here. 
Only the freshest and ripest strawberries are suitable for this delicacy. They go for the strawberries that are deeply coloured, ripe, and scented. Also, they mix it with the heavy cream used in this recipe to make it cool and fresh.
A quick brief about Strawberries:
Strawberries are one of the most famous seasonal fruits growing in this area. It is said that initially the British imported it from Austrelia and started cultivating here during there rule as this was there summer captial of Bombay Province.
More than 80% of the Strawberries in India are produced here. The climate, soil, and favourable conditions make it the perfect location for cultivating succulent strawberries. There are other berries like Mulberries, raspberries, gooseberries are also cultivated in this region on the large scale. Mostly Strawberries and Mulberries are used for the creamy shake with ice cream and along with it the others are used in processed food products like fruit jams and spreads, syrups, jellies, fruit chews, desserts etc. To name a few, Mapro, Mala’s are the large scale food product developers of this region.
During our last trip, we had a brief visit at a strawberry farm of an outlet called Garden Green House Strawberry Farm & Restaurant at Mahalabeshwar serving fresh desserts and selling fresh Straberries from thier farm behind.

A street vednor selling berries on the street. You will find many such vendors all along the road from Panchgani to Mahabaleshwar. You can have a good bargain here.
Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani are perfect weekend getaways with family and friends. When you visit these beautiful hill stations, be sure to try the fresh strawberries with cream and ice cream. It’s a dessert that you won’t forget!
