Storefronts at JFK Airport New York

Last week I travelled to Mumbai from the JFK Airport in New York.

With a good 5 hours of layover time, I thought the best thing to do would be to take a stroll and capture interesting storefront photos.

This is the Johnnie Walker Store, and the most captivating part was the walking figure painted in the theme of the US flag :us_outlying_islands:

This storefront shows everything they have on offer, the ordering kiosk, racks, and the exit. :wheelchair_symbol: The store appears accessible too.

The Pizza Vino Bar shows their menu prominently so that customers can decide what to buy before entering. I find this very convenient.

The storefront also shows that they have high-chairs and tables.
Also, they have large TVs to enjoy sports and music.

This cloth and apparel stores appear accessible for a wheelchair.
The storefront shows that they have manikins and a trial room as well.

The Hudson storefront is a fully open and accessible as seen in this photo.

They have on display all of their products, a few manikins, and ambiance and the vibes of the store are clearly visible.

I am sure such storefront photos will help local guides users a lot when locating the shop easily especially in a crowd of other shops at a busy place like the JFK Airport.

Finally, here is the only interesting thing, a piece of decoration that I found in the entire terminal that was of interest and could be related the challenge about airports by @NandKK

Wow, what a wonderful post @TusharSuradkar ji.

Your idea of using the layover time productively by capturing storefronts is really inspiring. Each photo not only shows accessibility and layout but also gives a clear sense of what travelers can expect — which is incredibly helpful for Local Guides and travelers alike.

I especially loved the Johnnie Walker storefront — the walking figure in the US flag theme is such a creative touch. And your mention of accessibility in each store shows how observant and thoughtful you are towards inclusivity. :raising_hands:

Thank you for linking your post to the airport challenge — it’s a great example of how detailed contributions can make a big difference on Google Maps.

What a brilliant idea, @TusharSuradkar ji, to utilize your layover for something so meaningful and helpful! :raising_hands:

Your detailed storefront photos not only make the airport experience visually navigable but also highlight accessibility, spatial arrangement, and traveler-friendly features — exactly what makes a contribution impactful on Google Maps. :light_bulb:

I especially admire how this post subtly supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by emphasizing accessibility and inclusive design in public spaces like airports. :airplane::wheelchair_symbol:

Also, your observant eye caught such creative elements — like the Johnnie Walker US-flag design — that would easily go unnoticed by many. Thank you for sharing and for inspiring us all to contribute with purpose even in transit.:clap:

Thank you @Sophia_Cambodia
I had a bit plenty of time at the airport, hence could manage to capture some clear photos. Other outlets were crowded, and I am not sure how people in the US perceive being photographed
