Staycation hike in Belgian's High Fens

I love nature, it is the perfect medicine to recharge your batteries and mind.

5 minutes of exposure to nature is already enough to boost your mind, studies are showing.

My mind was boosted like a rocket, I did a hike of 4 hours / 11 km in the High Fens—the highest altitude area in Belgium of 600+ meters.

Many gorgeous small waterfalls can be admired when you walk along the river Hoëgne for about 4 km in a valley which keeps you cool during hot weather. The remaining 7 km is next to open fields with farm animals, forests and even hunting trails.

This is your perfect day trip to one of the most beautiful parts in the Belgian Ardennes!

Arrive early is the key message. I arrived at 10AM with 10 cars and left at 2PM with 500+ cars on the parking lot.

I parked right here and used the website/app “Cirkwi”—a useful navigation tool for hiking. The signalization was poor in this area so this was of good use.

Enjoy my pictures!

Apologies, I picked the incorrect label, should be “Travel”.

@Stphn Beautiful place, nice shots. :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

You can edit this post (click the three dot on the left of the post) and change the topic to Travel.

Thanks a lot @Ant_Bad_Yogi !

I tried that yesterday, but for some reason the label is still “Local Stories” event though I changed it to “Travel” and saved. Odd!

Hahaha, OK I see. Probably a bug on Connect. @Stphn

I think so to @Ant_Bad_Yogi .

@JanVanHaver , could you please change the label to “Travel” for this post? Does not seem to work for me.

Since I tagged you anyway, did you visit this spot in the High Fens already?

Sure @Stphn I have been there. Really great environment if you want to relax!

No idea what could be the problem with the label, and Connect Moderators can’t change them (only post author or Google Mods can).
