Statue of Liberty in New York

The Statue of Liberty one of the most popular place for the tourist who visited in New York. I think it is the first choice for most of the tourist as like me. I have visited the Statue of the Liberty in November 2019.

The Statue of Liberty is a universal symbol of freedom; it is situated in a small island in the Upper Bay (also called Upper New York Bay).

The Statue of Liberty was devoted in October 1886 and designated as a National Monument in 1924. It was a joint effort between France and United States, intended to remember the friendship between the peoples of the two nations.

It represents a woman face holding a torch in her raised right hand and tablet in her left hand; it is a 93 meters high monument including the pedestal.

Statue of Liberty Museum: Please don’t miss to visit the Liberty Museum. You can see lots of historical photos and information about this monument. Inside the Theatre you can watch a documentary video that describes all about its history; I think everybody will enjoy watching this video and loving it.

Visiting the Pedestal: Visitors are allowed to visit the pedestal of the Statue of the Liberty but the number of the visitors are very limited for per day; so you need to reserve your ticket in advanced. Then you can get the access to the inside of the Pedestal and the Fort Wood level; and viewing the inside of the Copper Statue from the Top of the pedestal.

You can also visit the Museum shop and the Liberty Island Books shop from where you can buy Liberty souvenirs, Books, Postcards, DVD’s and more.

You can also use the Audio Tours of the Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty in different languages. You can pick up the Audio tour from the Audio Tour Kiosk, it’s at just after the entrance of the Island.

How to Travel: The Statue City Cruises is the only authorized official tickets and tours service provider of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. However, anyone can travel from the Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan in New York and the Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The Ferry Boat operates between 9:00 AM to 4:30PM.

Ticket Options: Ticket provides access to the grounds of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. You can reserve your ticket plan as you need and it starts from 23.80$ and can get from the Statue City Cruises.

Facilities Available:

:heavy_check_mark: :wheelchair: All vessels are wheelchair accessible for your convenience.

:heavy_check_mark: :wheelchair: Wheelchair loan also available

:heavy_check_mark: :headphones: Audio description is available for the visually impaired.

:heavy_check_mark: :wc: Restrooms available.

Wonderful article and great photos @AbdullahAM

Refreshed my memories of visit in 2008 though I did not land on the island but watched from the Staten Island Ferry.
