When I first moved to Chicago from Florida, many people warned me of the bitter snowy weather here. To which I thought- “How bad could it be”, for I had experienced snow in New Jersey and New York.
At the edge of October, we are pretty much into celebrating Halloween, however, this morning I was taken by a Spooky Surprise- Heavy Snowfall. It did spook all of us this morning. To which people said - "This is just the beginning darling"!
As a result to which, my snowy morning began with a sip of hot coffee and an attempt of Macro photography for the very first time.
See for yourself and let me know if I did any justice to it.
Love the concept of macro photography, @ReemaGandhi !
I can’t believe we are already having snow across the U.S. before Halloween. Here in North Carolina, we are experiencing heavy rain and dark clouds today and tomorrow. I consider this very spooky!
I liked a lot your photos! Thanks for sharing them!
It’s very interesting way to capture the snowflakes. Did you use lens portrait or you just zoomed it? Would you like to share a bit more about the techniques that you’ve used? The fourth photo is incredible!
I appreciate you taking the time out to check my work!
You’ll be surprised to know that these pictures have been captured using iPhone XR.
I recently purchased a Macro Lens accessory for the phone. Although, the lens isn’t a high-quality product, surprisingly enough, it worked wonders to the final outcome.
As a matter of fact, an iPhone’s camera renders decent effects, and as a result to which I never had to buy a DSLR, however, with this added accessory, I could do something that any phone alone can’t do.
It was a little too tricky at first, in terms of positioning the lens directly on the object. Since the end result is incredible, no complaints as to the quality of the product.
Yes, it is downright muggy and warm here today. Most cities are re-scheduling activities for tomorrow because of rain. We actually get several big snows here. I grew up in the North Carolina mountains where we average several feet of snow throughout the Winter and Spring months.
For someone like me who never really visited any mountains except for Lookout Mountain the previous year, it’s pretty cool to know that you grew up here!
I wonder what everyday life would be like in the mountains, it’s just the second day of Snow here and it feels like months!
Such detailed photos, @ReemaGandhi - love the spooky surprise haha! Really love this topic as well.
As I’m sure you’re used to, our weather down here in Miami hasn’t adjusted according to the rest of the nation lol, so we’re experiences real feels in the 90s, which is spooky enough to keep the kids indoors until nightfall haha.
That was hilariously true! @SP31 Thank you so much for your time.
I remember the hot weather during my stay in Miami, couldn’t really feel like going out until the evening.
But evenings are super animated in Florida, correct me if I’m wrong! The moment nice cool breeze gently stroke the face is when you almost forgot what 90 degrees was!
And I’m sure, CL2019 will give us a few days to forget the chilling as well as scorching hot weather of our town.
