Special red wine in Tenerife

I was travelling in Tenerife and during my trip from Santa Cruz to Puerto de la Cruz, I discovered the wine region when I found a special red wine.

We stopped at “Casa del vino” and we tried the Crater red wine that has an intense garnet red color, with violet hues.

Crater wine is produced by manual harvesting, in 18 kg boxes, during the second fortnight of September and the first fortnight of October. Harvesting is done on vineyards located at 400 mt. above sea level.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the wine - sounds interesting! I think in Sardinia, Italy they have a similar wine that takes advantage of the attitude and lava!

Personally, I just enjoy any red wine!!! In Spain, the reds are all great!!! Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!

Hello @LucaPascu ,

Thanks for sharing your experience in Tenerife. I would love to visit it some day. Have you been on any of the other Canary Islands? I visited Lanzarore 2 years ago and I fell in love with this place. You can check all about my trip here Lanzarote—the hidden gem of the Canary Islands.

I couldn’t agree with you more that you felt like walking on the Moon during your visit. I felt the same way and it was a memorable experience to marvel at this unearthly scenery.

I am jealous of you both having been to Las Islas! I have not been yet, spending most of my time in Cadiz province when there. I even have a friend in Tenerife but haven’t visited! Perhaps one day… till then, will just have to enjoy the islands from afar and through others’ experiences!!!

Thanks for share your experience @LucaPascu

I am going to Puerto de la Cruz, is there any place or activity that you recommend?

Sorry for the late reply!! You can go to Playa Jardin, the beutiful black beach
