Hello,
I actively contribute to Google Maps by writing reviews and uploading photos. Recently, I noticed that while some of my reviews appear on my profile under “Contributions,” others are not visible publicly on the business/place pages.
The missing reviews are still visible to me in my profile, but when I check the respective locations, those reviews don’t appear. I always follow Google’s review guidelines and keep my reviews respectful and helpful, so I’m unsure why this is happening.
This usually happens because Google’s automated systems sometimes hold back certain reviews if they detect patterns that might look suspicious (even if the review is genuine). A few common reasons could be:
The review contains links, contact details, or promotional wording.
The place is newly listed or undergoing verification.
Google’s spam filters mistakenly flagged the review.
The good part is that your review is still visible to you under “Contributions,” which means it hasn’t been deleted. If it meets all of Google’s review policies, it may start showing publicly once the system rechecks it.
What you can try:
Double-check the content for anything that might trigger filters (like personal details, phone numbers, or too many emojis).
Keep contributing regularly — photos, ratings, edits, etc. This helps build trust with the system.
If the issue continues for a long time, you can report it on the Maps Help Community for further assistance.
You have added 332 reviews and currently only 273 of them are public. This many hidden reviews is not normal.
You are clearly violating the rule about not uploading photos to more than one place. Just compare the pics you uploaded to Google Maps and Google Maps. I think you uploaded this image twice:
Explaining where the place is located in the review text is never needed and not helpful as Google Maps was designed to do just that.
Finally, I noticed that many of your review texts are general remarks that could be found in a brochure or online without any relation to your personal experiences. This is a serious issue. Please use the 4 questions found here to test if you wrote an excellent review.
one more hint in addition to the other correct comments:
If photos or videos are attached to a review and only one of them is rejected by the filter, the entire review including all other attached media will be hidden, i.e. not published.
Therefore, as a first step after discovering a hidden review, should be to remove all attached media, to see, if text-only review is accepted.
