Some Interesting Observations on Hidden Photos

Hello Fellow LGs,

Inspired by some of you, I have been reviewing my Google Map data for last one month by now. My objective is to publish quality data on the map. In past whenever I was getting a prompt from Google to add photos or videos to a specific POI from my mobile, I was accepting and uploading. In this course, some duplicate contents as well as some poor quality contents have also got the placeholder in the Google Map because Google is still not smart enough to differentiate between already uploaded content from the mobile and the contents which are still there in the mobile.

Now I have deleted most of them even with the high number of views. Please note that wherever I am not fully convinced, I leave those contents as it is. This may cause reduction of points and reduction in number of views but I am determined to do that to achieve quality contents in my account.

In this whole process I have come across some interesting observations. One of them I am highlighting in this post.

In continuation to my post Improved Google Map Feature to identify Hidden Photos, I figure out that even the hidden photo has the higher number of views as shown in the picture below:

Wonder how is this possible when the photo is hidden and not available as “Public” view, yet the number of views it has is higher than that of others in the same group which are not hidden.

This is something very interesting to further deep dive into. Thought of sharing with you all.

Feel free to write your thought in the comment box in a friendly and amicable way.
