Some 360° photos do not display on Google Maps. Some regular photos have disappeared.

Over the past several months, I have had problems with some 360 panorama images not publishing successfully while others taken from the same location at the same time do. I see a thumbnail of the unpublished photo in my dashboard but when I click it - it either displays as one of the other successfully uploaded panoramas, a black screen or one of the panoramas that Google’s mobile 360 vehicle has captured - which is really pretty strange!

Also, I have successfully published regular photos to Google Maps or Google My Business (GMB) pages for various businesses that are showing in my dashboard as having thousands of views. But when I visit that company’s GMB page - only 1 or 2 of those photos display! One photo of a pool at a hotel is showing over 24,000 visits in my dashboard but when I visit their GMB page, that photo does not show up under my contributions with the other 2 images I contributed.

I would appreciate any help on resolving these issues. I have spent HOURS re-uploading the panoramas that just don’t seem to display trying different browsers and using Google Maps and Local Guides to no avail.

BTW, I have not charged any of these businesses for my photos. I contribute them as a Local Guide with the goal that I’ll gain experience taking these kinds of photos and eventually become a “Google Street View Trusted Photographer.”

Thank you for your response, @sonnyNg . I was starting to think that I was the only one with this issue and that no one at Google even cared.

Please keep me posted with any progress or solutions to this issue. I would be happy to try uploading more 360 photos to see if your team successfully resolves the issue.

It has now been over half a year since I posted this problem. Still no resolution!

No one from Google has ever reached out to me with questions that might help them resolve this issue. The problems continue as I upload new pictures - both regular photos and 360 photos.

Yesterday, I tried uploading pictures for a client’s cover photo and general viewing photos from the dashboard on my desktop PC. (GMB page: https://www.google.com/search?q=Schirmer+Construction+LLC&ludocid=6997826010516013266)

None of them displayed on their GMB page.

Today, I uploaded the same photos from the “Add a photo” link that any visitor to the GMB page can use. All the photos did post! Unforunately, when I click the thumbnails to view the photos larger, some of the photos do not display at all. Just a black empty box displays where the larger photo should be. See screenshot, below.

I also tried uploading a 15 second video which does not show. 16 hours later, all I see in the dashboad is a grey box with a spinning circle.

Are GMB pages broken for everyone or just me? I would really like to help businesses get discovered during this pandemic but your “tools” just don’t seem to be working.

PLEASE offer some solutions or resolve these issues ASAP.

Just to be sure, as provided in the latest details, the photos that were uploaded to the Schirmer Construction LLC, would seem to be working accordingly on our side (both on desktop and mobile), would you mind checking again on the matter?

Regarding the video uploading, would you mind sharing the information of the device it was proceeded on? (please be noted that for the moment it is possible to do so on Android/iOS device only, for further remarks do feel free to check the article Add, remove, or share photos and videos)

Regarding the delay of uploads, please be noted that currently there would be an update on the matter, as I may quote from Street View Moderator @ArmonJ :

"UPDATE: Temporary delays in publications

As new photo contributions are gradually being published on Google Maps, you should also begin to see recently collected tours and 360 images (and connections between images) appear. New photos should now publish normally (though in some cases there may be short delays in review time), and content you uploaded during the temporary pause should also start to publish over the coming days. As a quick tip, you may also use the tagging system, with the “@” so that the name of a person you are forwarding the message to will appear, as it also allows you to receive notification to follow up posts easily.

All the photos and video for Schirmer Construction LLC GMB page displayed properly by the 2nd day after posting them so that is all good.

However, here are some photos that I have posted on other businesses GMB pages that display properly in my contributions for photos dashboard - but when I click the thumbnail to see them larger, they only display as black boxes. Some of the photos supposedly have thousands of views! Is it possible that someone has flagged these photos as being inappropriate (which none of them are) so Google blacks them out? Can they be fixed to show on the GMB pages?

About an hour ago, I wrote a very lengthy reply to your last message with links to a lot of my photos that are not displaying properly on the GMB pages I uploaded them to. I do not see that reply in this thread. I hope you got it because I took almost an hour going through all my uploads and copying the links in the post so you could check them out. I hope I do not have to do that again.

@Mark_Madere the spamfilter must have considered your reply with all those URLs in it as being suspicious - so it was accidentally moved to the spam folder. I have now released it.

@JanVanHaver Thanks for releasing it. I hope someone can resolve some of my 360-degree photos (and some regular photos, too) not displaying on Google Maps.
