[Solved] Wrong language in editing interface

Hi all,

Don’t know you paid attention or not.

These days and several days after changing the editing interface, the language of the interface remains English in all other Maps languages.

For example I use Persian language but when I press edit button the interface shows editing box in English!

This seems not a big problem but it definitely affects on the user experience. On the other hand many users aren’t familiar with English so this situation may results to wrong edits, too.

I also used other languages like Italian and French and got same result. I tested it both on App and Web and the problem persists. I also asked other users and they experience the same.

I can confirm this from my own experience @Amiran . Since English is, although not being my mother tongue, quite natural to me, I had simply not noticed this. When a different alphabet is involved, like in your case, it is easier to spot of course :slightly_smiling_face:

And you are right: it would be much better to have this also in the app language, as is the case for all other features in the app

2 days ago I also noticed this problem in the Android App. While I selected Danish as the App language the 2 editing screens are in English. The “Edit name or other info”-page and the “Close or remove”-page are in English. But the popup where you chose between the “Edit name or other info” and the “Close or remove” is still in Danish!

This error is also on Desktop. I did report the in the App to no avail, so I appreciate you bringing it up here.

Thank you for confirming @JanVanHaver , You’re truly right. It is much easier to detect this when we’re using different alphabet in general :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for preparing more details @MortenCopenhagen . Good job to report in app. I forgot to do it and just waited these two days to see if the problem remains or not and then express here.
