Solang Valley – A fun Station for Adventurous Activities

Hello to all Local Guide friends!

I hope you all are fine and doing well!

Today I am going to share with you my experience of visiting Solang Valley . I visited it during our family trip to beautiful Manali, Himachal Pradesh in the month of May 2014. Manali is one of the most popular hill stations in India.

Solang Valley is located at a distance of 13 kms from Manali, Himachal Pradesh and it lies between Solang village and Beas Kund . It offers a spectacular view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and hence Solang Valley is one of the most gorgeous and adventurous places to visit. It is not just about adventure activities; but its lush greenery, snow-capped peaks and lakes attract number of tourists from India and abroad every year.

Adventurous Things To Do In Solang Valley____:-

The best time to visit Solang Valley depends on why you wish to visit it. For snow lovers, the best time to visit Solang Valley is between the months of December to February. The valley covered in snow looks magnificent at that time. Since the valley has fine ski slopes, it is a perfect place for skiing. The valley becomes a skiing paradise with tourists of all ages slipping and sliding over the fresh white snow.

When snow melts in the summer, skiing is replaced by paragliding, zorbing, parachuting and horse riding. As mentioned above we had visited it at the end of May i.e. in summer; so we enjoyed paragliding and zorbing.

Paragliding:-

Among all activities during summer, paragliding is the most thrilling activity to enjoy. There are two jump stations – one on a low and other on a higher level, this adventure lets you fly like a bird literally. There is a Cable Car Rope-way facility to reach to the respective jump stations. Also trained staffs are provided along with you while jumping.

Cable Car Rope-way charges: Per person Rs. 350

Paragliding charges: Per person Rs. 600 for a lower level and Rs. 1800 for a higher level

Zorbing:- Zorbing is the activity that matches the fun of hurtling down the hill in a transparent ball with your loved one. Rolling up and down the lush green hills in summer creates sensations in the body, which makes it all in all a pulsating experience. And so zorbing is also a must-have experience here.

Zorbing charges**:** Per person Rs. 350 and above

In short, irrespective of when you visit this gorgeous heaven, you will enjoy your holidays very happily. If you visit in summers then don’t forget to visit Rohtang Pass

I hope you enjoyed this post.

What safety precautions are there in the Paragliding? Did you experience that yourself?

Thanks for posting this amazing experience and beautiful pictures! I always wanted to do paragliding, is in my bucket list since when I was a kid but I never tried. It looks dangerous to me but one day I will find the needed bravery and I will fly like a bird! :slightly_smiling_face:

Few weeks ago I stumbled upon another exciting post by @sparekh on the same topic, if you want you can take a look, I hope you will find it interesting::parachute: Paragliding at Southside beach near Torquay along Great Ocean Road :ocean: .

  • @vijayparadkar they look so fun. This is cool and I hope you enjoyed your time there. I have never done paragliding and I wish I could do it sometimes. Some areas are more beautiful aerial view than just land view.*
