Hello Local Guides,
Are you ready for the next StateChallenge?, this is for the State of Kentucky.
This post is part of the #Kentucky #StateChallenge that is being run by @Denise_Barlock and @jayasimha78. Thanks for giving me a chance to introduce Kentucky to other Local Guides!
Please also read the article Kentucky the Bluegrass State which is part of the study guides.
Also, part of my activities during the Summer Season, traveling, please read my post regarding Summer in the Mitten State to understand more about what we do in Michigan. One of many activities is the Fourth of July fireworks.
Tagging along with my husband while he is conducting business can be very refreshing. I will take a personal day from the workplace to explore places he is going to for a business trip. Remember, interfering with his work hours is not my intention so I will browse the area after his business is over.
At this time we are in Owensboro Kentucky. After his meeting in the area, we do not get to the hotel till late. Before heading to the hotel we drive around to see the surrounding areas and how we come across this park. We decided before heading home tomorrow we will check the area.
It is located in the heart of the riverfront in vibrant downtown Owensboro KY. To my amazement how big this park is and wheelchair-accessible friendly one of the largest playgrounds in the United States one-of-a-kind playground, that is how they call is located on the Ohio River and was completed in August 2012. This park spans 5 city blocks (5 acres) and offers outdoor space for all kinds of events with concessions and restroom facilities.

Some of the uniqueness of this park is a 30-foot walk through trees, a splash pad area, and ADA ramp available throughout the entire playground, a playground for ALL.

Info about this park can be checked at Smothers Park and their video can be viewed HERE
