You might be a little surprised to read the title. Smart Toilet! Yes, it is.
Yesterday, I visited Ahmedabad city for some work. During this time, I needed to use a public toilet so, I have searched on Google Maps to find a public toilet near me. According to the search results displayed on Google Maps, I reached the nearest public toilet and when I saw it, I got a little confused. At a look, I thought this might be an advertisement display (of course, the photo given below is an LED display, attached to this toilet for sponsors to contribute). But it was a smart public toilet. I was a little surprised; I had never seen such toilets before.
If I talk about the features of this toilet, this is a pay-and-use toilet. Users will be able to use the toilet for up to 20 minutes by inserting INR 1, 2, 5, or 10 coins. After inserting the coin into the machine, the door can be operated; firstly, the toilet will be automatically cleaned and will be ready to use. Also, the automatic system ensures cleanliness after using the toilet.
If in case there is no water or electricity, the entry restriction feature automatically prohibits the person to use the toilet. The sensor-operated hand cleaning basin is placed here to ensure the complete hygiene of the user after using the toilet.
This toilet is accessibility enabled but lacks a parking facility.
Importantly, this toilet also has sanitary pad vending machines, just outside the ladies toilet.
Expect that such units will surely improve the overall hygiene and will become popular soon.
Very nice it’s new concept apply by government in metro cities waiting for my town because it’s useful for travellers as well vendors and all thanks for sharing this information with us
The white screen you are looking at has an LED display for advertising → and the toilet is located on the back of it, which can be accessed through the stairs provided next to it. This toilet is very different from the others because it is fully automatic @TusharSuradkar .
Thanks for sharing, this post we were not aware of smart toilet. Wow great initiative taken by government. You share it will check in google map we have in Mumbai.
Great and this is Smart India. In my locality (Kolkata ) I haven’t seen this type of toilets. Hope within few months, I’ll see this “Smart Public Toilet”.
This is an amazing update and depicts the development happening in India @NareshDarji bhai ! Happy to see our country on a clean and green path of progress !
Under the Digital India campaign, the project is currently being implemented in smart cities, starting from Ahmedabad and expanding rapidly to other cities. This feature will soon be available in your city as well.
I’m glad these have come to India @NareshDarji we’ve hard self cleaning smart dunnies for quite a few years now and apart from the fact they’re wet inside all the time since they periodically spray the room and flood the floor they’re quite good. I hope yours detect if someone is still in there, after your time is up ours give you one chance to keep the door shut via a button push then after that they open by themselves followed by the cleaning. This is forced to prevent people from living in them.
@NareshDarji great stuff bro…so happy to know that our country is emerging with such great facilities. Mostly I find public toilet very unhygienic but this look so much hygiene.
Our country is now moving towards the latest technology, which is an excellent step taken by government to care of the health of every citizen @Pratik_89 , @Rohan10 , @AjitThite .
