One of the best memory I got from Seattle was to be able to go sky-view on Seattle city. It was a very beautiful spot. I haven’t been on Space Needle but this one on Columbia Bank was on floor #73 so it is higher than Space Needle. The good thing is that we can view Space needle which is not very far away. I could capture the Space Needle by phone. We went up there during the day time but I believe night time is even majestic.
Information about the Sky ViewObservatory
Sky observatory deck is located on floor #73 of Columbia Bank (black tallest building in Seattle city). It is 902 feet tall (almost 275meter) and according to Sky View Observatory, the building offers the tallest public viewing area in the Pacific Northwest. I think it is worth it as you have opportunity to experience 360-degrees panoramic view of Seattle city and beyond.
The view you can see from the deck includes Mt. Rainier, Bellevue, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Baker, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and the city of Seattle (the stadium, the ferry wheel, the pier and roads).
It was said to be developed by Martin Selig and the building was completed in 1985 (the Columbia centre has 76-story on 1.5 million square foot). The building is well maintained and it looks so new.
Entrance ticket for adults = 26$/person (at the time I visited). It can be different for different occasions and group booking. Check the website for more detailed. It needs booking during special occasions.
The time allowed to be up there is until 9pm. Special occasion like July 4th, the deck is open till late (11pm) or during New Year Eve till late.
There is coffee counter and souvenir shop up there on Floor #73
I think if you ever go up there, you have good opportunity for beautiful landscape photos. All my photos were taken by iPhone 13 ProMax.
I would love to go but I most likely won’t be able to due to cost and the distance. I have health problems so I don’t get to travel far for a few days I always have to stay close to my doctor right now I just a old lady with dreams and a lot of different things going on with my health due to lupus sle and thyroid and possibly breast cancer and IBS and other stomach problems like GRED , GI reflux and bile reflux and other symptoms of lupus. But hey I am alive and blessed just pray for me . Can you visit this place in virtual reality sky view? I would like to go on a virtual tour that would be great for me how do you go on virtual tours ? I going to do a tour of where I live by video and maybe who ever local guides that feel comfortable to come and go around with me and my husband but place it on connect for those who can not join in maybe middle of next month. Thanks for sharing . You want to be friends?
I’m definitely wanna come to this place, i mean look at the view amazing the whole city view in your eyes @Sophia_Cambodia Amazing post , is dining option is also available at this place ? Beautiful pictures well done have a nice day .
Nice photos @Sophia_Cambodia I haven’t been in Seattle but I can recognize some places like the space needle, the Climate Pledge Arena and the stadium which will host some 2026 World Cup matches.
@LaloPadilla you should definitely go. I bet you can sit for hours just to see such beautiful view. It doesn’t need telescope. I bet sunset view and night sky would add value to it. I haven’t been on Space Needle yet but I think I love this one more for that it is higher and you can see everything from above!
That’s something to consider @tana_payne I am sorry to hear about your situation. Virtual tour would be wonderful and beneficial for those who can’t travel to places.
Great images @Sophia_Cambodia We decided to give the Space Needle a miss and went up the Sky View instead. Great views and as you said - you get to look down on the Space Needle.
Wow, this entire time I thought the Space Needle was the highest/best view one could have in Seattle - your photos and recount has proven me wrong @Sophia_Cambodia . Thanks so much for sharing these photos and these fun facts as well. Considering the view, it seems well worth the money to be able to see so far and wide.
What a wonderful post of a beautiful place with great pictures! I like the way you explained the details of the place, its surrounding, timing and most importantly, the ticket price. The views look really spectacular. This post will come in handy to anybody visiting Seattle. Thank you for sharing this @Sophia_Cambodia . Hope you got a chance to meet @Kwiksatik . If not, make sure you do next time you go there. She is an amazing person to hang out with.
