Hello!
I know when people hear the word Sweden, they tend to think of many things from the list below:
-
One of the top world’s happiest countries
-
IKEA
-
Volvo
-
SAAB
-
Meat balls
-
Snow, a lot of snow and snow capped mountains
And, they are correct! But the south end of the country has a county called Skåne. Where most Swede’s come to where it’s the hottest (30C in Summer) it can get in Sweden. So, it’s the best of both world.
This region of Sweden, is the most densely populated. Full of people from many different parts of the world. And is the epi-center of Research and Education in Sweden. Skåne has good connectivity to Copenhagen, Bornholm (Denmark), Świnoujście (Poland), Rostock(Germany) and the European roads through Denmark make Skåne the entry point to travellers by Road, Train and Ship as the medium of transport.
The dialect in this part of Sweden is Danish influenced and Swede’s could distinguish the subtle differences in the tones when someone native Skåne speaks. Even though it’s still the same Swedish. Sweden has one of the best government run websites for tourists.
https://www.thenewbieguide.se/ For the whole of Sweden.
https://visitskane.com/ For activities inside Skåne.
All payment from tiny to large can be digitally made and the transport agencies have apps to purchase tickets. So, there’s a lot of time saved from standing in queue’s while your connecting train/bus departs.
I highly recommend everyone with the possibility to take the chance and to visit Skåne, on any season I believe there’s always something to see in this county.
Cheers!
