Silver Temple, Chiang Mai (Thailand)

Less popular then “Doi Suthep Temple” in Chiang Mai, you will find the "Silver Temple (“Wat Srisuphan”) closed to the Saturday Market, 2 steps away from the city center. All the decoration is made of silver, and you will have the opportunity to watch monks pounding silver leaves to decorate the temple. Like in any temple, a modest outfit and respectfull behaviour is required from the visitors. A girl should never touch or handshake a monk ; If you want to salute him make a “waay” (Thai greeting). In the surrounding streets, you will find a lot of small shops selling items and jewelry made of silver.
