Introduction :
Hi, i am Raj, I have spent most of my life living in Mumbai. Now I live in London. I am a technocrat by profession, and I love to travel a lot and cannot imagine life without google maps.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve done as a Local Guide?
Well there are many things which I have done as local guide and there are many which i am yet to do. Few significant things i did in the past was to locate the hospitals in my area where I used to live in Mumbai.
The significant thing which I intend to do with google maps is make them easier to use for baby boomers generation. I want to use software specifically for medical use for elderly people. In case, when there is a medical emergency, I want to have sofware show all the hospitals in the nearby area with the number of beds available and number of doctors available to help. It might happen that a medical emergency arises and a pesron/s reaches the hospital and cannot find bed or available doctor. A situation like this can easily be averted by usin google maps. Also the maps can flag other travellers on the road that there is an ambulance approaching and the traffic on road should make a path for the same.
There is so much scope which can be explored with google maps in order to save lives of people and I intend to generously invest in that cause.
What does the Local Guides program mean to you?
The local guides program for me is a means to explore my inner technical passion in the area of navigation/maps by simulatneously contributing to the community.
