Nestled in the heart of the Marble City of Kishangarh, Rajasthan, the magnificent Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple is one of the city’s most admired spiritual and architectural landmarks. Located on Ajmer Road, opposite Maya Bazaar, this beautiful temple is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of Kishangarh’s rich artistic, cultural, and religious heritage.

Popularly known as the Kanodia Temple, it was built by the renowned Kanodia Group, one of Rajasthan’s prominent industrial families. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) and Goddess Lakshmi, the divine symbols of preservation, prosperity, and well-being.

The foundation stone of this temple was laid on 22 February 1973 by the respected social leader Jayaprakash Narayan, while the consecration ceremony (Pran Pratishtha) was performed on 8 February 1991 under the guidance of Swami Swarupanand Saraswati and revered saints of the Nimbarka tradition.

Architecturally, the temple follows the traditional Nagara style of North Indian temple architecture, inspired by some of India’s famous marble temples. Constructed from beautiful Dholpur Red Sandstone, the temple showcases exquisite craftsmanship through its finely carved pillars, domes, and walls. Intricate sculptures depicting Hindu deities, incarnations of Lord Vishnu, and scenes from ancient epics adorn the temple premises, making it a delight for both devotees and architecture enthusiasts.

One of the unique features of the complex is the presence of a Shiva shrine directly facing the main Lakshmi-Narayan sanctum. This symbolic arrangement beautifully represents the harmony of Hari and Hara (Vishnu and Shiva), reflecting the inclusive spirit of Hindu philosophy.

The interiors of the temple are equally captivating. The ceilings beneath its grand domes are decorated with detailed carvings and artistic motifs that showcase the remarkable skill of local artisans. The sculptural and architectural work was carried out under the supervision of Shri Mohan Lal Sharma from Sirohi district, Rajasthan.

Today, the temple serves as a major spiritual and cultural center of Kishangarh. Many important religious events, including Janmashtami celebrations, Deepawali festivities, Bhagavata Kathas, Ram Kathas, devotional gatherings, and community events, are associated with this sacred place. From the early morning Mangala Aarti to the evening prayers, the temple remains vibrant with devotees throughout the day.

For visitors exploring Kishangarh, famous worldwide for its marble industry and the legendary Bani Thani painting tradition, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple offers a peaceful and enriching experience. Whether you are interested in spirituality, architecture, photography, or local culture, this temple is a must-visit destination that reflects the soul of the city.

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback and encouragement. I truly appreciate your suggestion regarding sharing more images of different areas of the temple. I will certainly try to add more photographs in future posts to provide a more complete view of the place.

Regarding your recommendation about human faces, I would like to mention that I am careful about Google Maps photo guidelines and have not intentionally included any identifiable human faces in the photographs shared for this post.

I would also like to add that all these photos were not captured using any premium flagship device such as an iPhone or Samsung Ultra. They were taken with a modest smartphone worth around ₹4,400. This demonstrates that meaningful contributions to Google Maps and Local Guides Connect are possible with any device when we focus on authenticity, details, and the value we provide to fellow travelers and visitors.

Thank you again for your support and constructive suggestions. They motivate me to continue sharing more useful and informative content with the Local Guides community.
