My idea for local guides is about authenticity. I don’t take usual tourist routes like A B C D. Of course if you are in Shanghai it would be stupid not to go to main attractions such as the Bund and I do that as well, take and post pictures. BUT at same time I will go off track going to just ordinary places, somtimes shady neighborhoods to see what’s real life like. I like to wonder without plan and just get a feeling of place and it’s people. I take pictures of ordinary buildings / places / ppl, sometimes pretty, sometimes ugly or just interesting for some reasons. I want to show true city, it’s people, not tourist attractions, because there’s already plenty photos of that. I think ability to contribute in community such as local guides is unique opportunity to show places the way they are and through your perspective, because we all find different things fascinating. I hope you’ll enjoy my contributions as I always enjoy checking others.
