I frequent a local arcade and gave them a 4 star review seeing as I’m always in there and like the place quite a lot. That said I haven’t tried everything there nor is the place perfect so hence the 4 instead of a 5 star review. Last time I went to said arcade the manager pulled me aside and said, “I have a question for you.”
“Go ahead,” I said.
“You really gave us a fucking 4 star review when you’re in here all the time?!”
“Well yeah, it’s my Google Guide reputation and you’re not perfect.”
“I guess that’s fair…” he said and walked away angrily.
What should I do about this situation? Is there a way to report it? Should I just adjust my review and never go back to said arcade? I need advice.
I think you did good. You stood by your review and you explained why. And he stood down. It can be hard for business ownerd to read criticism especially if they think they are the very best.
If I were you I would go back and be ready to share some constructive tips on how they can improve (easily - if possible).
I did not experience how mad and upset he got. So only you know if it is safe to revisit.
All the best
Morten
I forgot to mention that Google is not here to help in such situations. We alone are responsible for our reviews. And it it up to the local legal system to decide if you or he overstepped some rules.
If he really threatened you, it is a case for the local police.
But it is always best to solve issues through dialog.

It just became really menacingly awkward and wasn’t sure if there was anything Google would want me to do. Thank you for your speedy reply, I think I’ll continue to go just stay away from him.
Always happy to help.
It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
