I just noticed a new feature (maybe it is not new).
When looking at a live train schedule shown under a train station on Google Maps a noticed this new button called Create shortcut. It is the last one and you need to swipe left to see it.
Thank you for sharing this handy tip @MortenCopenhagen sir! The ‘Create shortcut’ feature for train and bus schedules on Google Maps is indeed a time-saver. It’s great to see such practical features being highlighted.
During my travels this summer, I was creating trips on desktop Google Maps (e.g. from A to B) and was using the Share button to export the link for that specific trip to add into my… drumroll… spreadsheet!
Annoyingly, the interface and features between desktop and mobile Maps is still not the same. For instance…
On desktop only:
I can share specific trips (on a set day and time between 2 locations for transit or 2 or more locations for driving) as a link or send to mobile
On mobile only:
I can save the trip to a list called Saved Trips. This list can be found in the You tab. However, there’s a bug at the moment where I cannot delete any saved trips. . And this Saved Trips don’t appear on desktop
