Short trip to Zekari Pass and cheese bought from farmers

Zekari Pass is a 2,182 metres high mountain pass located in Georgia’s Meskheti Range on the border of the Imereti and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions.

The road is moslty open from May until the first snow, around the end of November.
The alpine zone begins about 19 km from the resort of Sairme and you could see amazing views. Also, farmers live in the pass during the summer, who go to Zekari to produce natural products: cheese, milk, vodka, honey…
It is close to Kutaisi, about 2 hours’ drive. After Sairme, it is recommended to continue the road only with an off-road vehicle, but sedans also drive a lot.
