Alok Dixit, a journalist-turned-activist, founded Sheroes Hangout in 2014 as part of the Chhanv Foundation and the Stop Acid Attacks movement. The initiative was created to support and rehabilitate survivors of acid attacks who often struggle with social stigma, trauma, and limited employment opportunities.
The idea was simple but powerful: create a café run entirely by survivors so they could regain confidence, financial independence, and a sense of community. What began as a small crowdfunded project near the Taj Mahal soon became a symbol of empowerment, where visitors not only enjoy food but also engage with the inspiring stories of the women who run it.
Today, Sheroes Hangout is more than a café—it is a social movement that challenges stigma, spreads awareness about acid violence, and helps survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.
The Sheroes Hangout Cafe branch at Noida Stadium was inaugurated on 17 May 2022. It opened as two kiosks inside Noida International Stadium (Sector 21) in collaboration with the Noida Authority to provide employment opportunities for acid attack survivors.
If you’re looking for a café with great food and a powerful purpose, you must visit Sheroes Hangout Cafe.
Run by inspiring acid attack survivors, this café is not just about food—it’s about courage, resilience, and second chances. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The menu offers simple but delicious dishes, and every meal here feels meaningful because it supports a truly empowering initiative.
