Hello Local Guides
I am excited to introduce another amazing women in our community as a part of She leads series. Meet @ShreyaMusings (Mohita S Siddharth) , a passionately creative soul from Lucknow, now settled in New Delhi, India. A resin artist, writer, crystal and reiki healer, and tarot/oracle reader, Mohita embraces art and empathy in all forms. With interests in traveling, food, exploring history and culture, and supporting women-led small businesses, she brings heart and purpose to everything she does. A strong advocate for women’s empowerment, she has also contributed to Youth Against Rape NGO, working for those affected by emotional, mental, and physical abuse. She has mastered over 60 traditional art forms, including Madhubani, Pichwai, and Kalamkari.
When and how did you become a Local Guide?
I became a Local Guide on 13 December 2016 at 10:58 PM. I registered on Connect on 12 May 2019. I always enjoyed taking photos and exploring new places but had no platform to share them. One day, while scrolling the Play Store, I found the Google Maps app and downloaded it, even though I was skeptical. Once I began posting, I discovered Connect and felt truly connected with a community of like-minded people.
What inspires you to contribute to Local Guides Connect?
The photos I take are memories I want to cherish forever and Connect lets me share them with the world. I enjoy learning and sharing experiences with the community, and I feel truly grateful for that.
In what ways do you lead or make an impact outside of Local Guides Connect?
I’ve been a writer and author for over 10 years and served as a publishing head, managing everything solo. My resilience and drive allow me to create meaningful impact, because giving up is never an option for me.
How do you define leadership, and what does it mean to you?
Leadership means learning and practicing to guide others toward a shared goal. My father taught me that true leadership is rooted in compassion, confidence, and belief in oneself. I try to give back to my community without expecting anything in return. I’ve led by example across different areas of life, and I’m proud to have served those who needed help.
What is your favourite type of contribution, and why?
My favourite was the Tea Challenge by @TusharSudakar ji and the in-person meetups at historic locations like Hauz Khas Fort and Lake in Delhi. One unforgettable destination for me was Udaipur, Rajasthan, where the local hospitality left a lasting impression and inspired me deeply.
What keeps you motivated to lead and contribute?
My strength and best friend, my husband @Ssiddharth2000 , who is also a Level 7 Local Guide. He encourages me to keep capturing memories, which keeps my passion alive and growing.
Who inspires you the most, and why?
My husband @Ssiddharth2000 @RosyKohli ma’am, @shrut19, @nareshdarji ji, and many members of the Indian community inspire me with their unwavering dedication.
How do you think we can inspire more women to be a part of our community?
Host more hybrid meetups, encourage women entrepreneurs, and keep uplifting each other consistently. The key is consistency and not giving up.
Have you faced any challenges? How did you overcome them?
Yes, some people ask why I don’t post all photos at once. I take this as a moment to explain Google Maps community guidelines and how quality matters over quantity.
What barriers do you face as a woman contributor, and how do you overcome them?
I haven’t faced any challenges within the community. I stay engaged and try my best to attend meetups and stay active.
What message would you like to share with women around the world?
Be versatile, stay positive, take a stand for yourself, and remain independent in your voice and journey.
Mohita is a shining example of how creativity, compassion, and community spirit can come together to create real change. From her powerful work in supporting survivors of abuse to her passion for preserving art, culture, and local heritage, she continues to uplift others through every role she takes on. Her journey as a Local Guide and community contributor is not just about places visited, it’s about stories shared, voices amplified, and lives touched. We’re grateful to have her as part of this vibrant global family.
