Sharing is Caring

Why I love to contribute to Google Maps

For me personally, one of the most important points is to belong to the community of people, whose nature is mostly about providing benefits to others, selflessly, with the knowledge, that we might be helping someone else.

Well, all I hope for is that my contributions may make someone to have just a little bit better day, because I led him/her to the delicious burger stall. Yes, even such little good things count, because if we count millions and millions contributions, then millions of little good things really count in the end and help to make our world a better place. And we are all willing to help. Help by sharing and therefore caring about others.

Watching the rising count of photo or review views of my contributions makes me proud, because that’s the sign, that all the stuff we’re doing has sense.

From my point of view, there’s also another dimension of the sharing and caring effect. Globally it also supports the humanity and kindness between people, because in the end we all just want to have a great day out there and sharing our experiences helps to deliver better days to lots of people - in the end we’ve got no idea who, but the important thing is, that we care that someone might be there. Maybe a family just like on the picture below made one of the 5106 views picked up a hotel reviewed, pictured and recommended by me.

I’m proud to be a Local Guide. Really.
