Hi @nangeline ,
Thanks for asking!
I’m from Hungary, and I hope I can share some useful information, but which cities are you planning to visit? By the way there are beautiful Christmas Markets all around the places in December, so this is one of the best time to visit Hungary.
@nangeline Please try to Google “Hungary Google my maps”. I’m not sure that is what you are looking for.
I’m going to Budapest. I’ve only started collecting some restaurants on my Maps list https://www.google.com/maps/placelists/list/iVXlypr-NHGpUEMLWmYWmkeAZDcbxQ
Hi @nangeline ,
I’ve checked your list, and Bamba Marha and Zing Burger are very good street food restaurants. Do you want to try some Hungarian dishes too, or you are interested only in street food?
What you can visit in Budapest is the Buda Catle with the Fisherman’s Bastion, Parliament, Hero’s Square with amazing museums, the zoo, the Opera, or you can go ice skating in the City park. As I mentioned, don’t forget the Christmas Market in the Vörösmarty Square.
You can find many cool bars in Gozsdu, if you want to have some fun.
Just as a reminder, don’t forget when responding to others make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.
@Petra_M wowww this list is amazing!
Thanks so much! I’ve just updated my list. It looks like 2 days in Budapest isn’t enough.
Yes, I’d love to try some authentic local dishes and street food. I’d also love to try the famous public baths, especially in winter.
Hi @nangeline ,
The bath is a very good idea, as Hungary is famous about the mineral water. I would recommend the Gellért and the Széchenyi, as they are authentic and beautiful.
If you want to try the real Hungarian cuisine, I would say Pörc & Prézli, Vendéglő a Kisbíróhoz, Két Szerecsen, Korhely Faloda és Daloda and the Rosenstein.
@nangeline If you want to really try local cuisine you should know that Hungary is famous of its sweets. So head to Cafe Gerbaud, Auguszt cukrászda, Rétesbolt Anno 1926 (so you can try the real strudel…) or any Szamos cafe. Also order a glass of Tokaji to make it even sweeter.
