“For me, 2025 has been quite wonderful in terms of contributions to the Local Guides Community. In June, I traveled to Delhi for a meet-up and uploaded photos of metro stations, where the photo of Saket Metro Station received nearly 100,000 views. I visited many new places and made contributions on Maps. I hope all of you also did great work. The photo shows a year recap of my contributions.

Summary & Reflection:
My old Chinese nickname was “迷鹿(路)”,which means “getting lost” in Chinese. I love traveling, enjoying beautiful scenery, and discovering good food, but I often spent a lot of extra time just trying to reach my destination.
After I started using Google Maps, everything changed. It helped me plan the best public transportation routes in advance and made traveling much easier.
In September 2025, a friend who is also a Local Guide encouraged me to share my travel experiences to help other travelers. That was when I began to take this role seriously, not as a job, but as a hobby and a way to help others.I have been learning how to take better photos and write reviews, hoping that my experiences and insights can be helpful to others.
I am deeply grateful to many senior Local Guides who generously shared their photography tips and advice. Thanks to their support, I reached Level 8 in less than a year, and so far my photos and posts have accumulated over 6 million views.
It is truly an honor to be part of the Google Local Guides community. One of my small goals for the future is to help more guides around the world get to know our small but wonderful country — Taiwan.
I am also especially thankful to @TsekoV for selecting me as one of the featured self-introduction guides for the January 2026 (Issue 202601) edition. Along the way, spending bits of my free time contributing as a Local Guide has made my life more fulfilling and exciting. And knowing that my contributions help other travelers makes me especially happy.

My review of Udupi Cafe and a photo from Little Goa getting so much love reminded me why I enjoy contributing—helping people discover the right places at the right time.

Hi @MortenCopenhagen thank you for sharing this information.
I would like to ask for some guidance. Over the past few years, I haven’t received any end-of-year achievement emails from Google Maps. I also no longer receive updates about level progression or photo view milestones.
Could you please advise on what I should check or do to ensure I’m eligible to receive these emails and updates again? I want to make sure my account settings and contributions are aligned with the program requirements.

I’ve already checked all the related settings and notification options since last year, including email preferences and spam folders, but unfortunately I still haven’t received any achievement emails or in-app notifications.
Even updates related to level progress and photo view counts have not appeared for quite some time. Please let me know if there are other steps I should try or if this might need to be checked from your side.

As for everyone I had had an end year a little bit” normal “with statistiques that still growing up thanks to those encouraging tips and topics showing each efforts and how useful those are for our societies..
Thus for this ending I were rated like everyone …
Some parts I’ve been reviewed and captured….!

And very grateful for it too .! This are thanks to our lovely community !
