Alki beach is located in West Seattle, facing to the city downtown where you can view Space Needle clearly. (Google map is here). It is said to be one spot to best view the downtown of Seattle (Instagrammers). Check this out for other good spots for this reason. Moreover, you would want to be here for countdown night, when Spaceneedle splash with numbers of fireworks.
This part of the city is known for this popular public beach. There are parks and walkways along the beach.
- Right on the water, the park has a boat launch, fire pits, picnic spots, beach volleyball, and watersports rentals.
- There are various shops, restaurants and lodges. I heard it is a crowded place during summer which you cannot find the spot for parking at all.
- My local guide told me that there is a Cambodian lady who sells ice-cream here and very famous. People lined up to get her ice-cream. You would also find a restaurant that offers fresh fish and stunning views looking across the water from the southeastern end of Alki beach Salty’s Waterfront Seafood Grill.
Besides the view back to the Seattle downtown, you would also sport park, houses with different styles along the beach. You can resnt boats to cruise around the city. In Spring, the flowers bloom and give more beauty to this beach road.
but the place looks very nice, the view of the city is also fantastic from there, I can imagine when weather is good it will be full of people.
