The best part about going to a traditional village restaurant is that you can usually get a taste of different types of authentic Arabian cuisine at the same place. I recently visited a popular restaurant in the Qatif region, Saudi Arabia and had a great opportunity to taste an authentic traditional Arab food “Mandi Waleema”. The Mandi waleema is one such traditional Arab dish where the meat is slow cooked in the local Arabian spices and served with basmati rice.
Mandi waleema is a popular traditional Arab food which is mainly served during the festival days or special occasions. The meat used in the Mandi waleema is slow cooked in the local Arabian spices and is served with the basmati rice. The meat used in the waleema mandi differs from the traditional meat especially the meat portion which comes with the juiciest fats that will further enhance the taste of rice. A layer of fried onion along with some dry fruits will be scattered on top of this delicious meal. I personally find this meal very filling and was sufficient for three to four servings as well as leftovers which I found quite tasty when reheated later on that day itself!
