Sandakphu : The Highest Peak in West Bengal, India (Part: 03)

Hi my fellow local guides,

Hope you guys are in good health. In the second part of my writing, I wrote about Tumling to Kala Pokhri trekking. In this part I’m going to share about Kala Pokhri to Ahal trekking.

In the morning there was nothing special. Because from Kala Pokhri only sunset is enjoyable. After breakfast, we ready for trekking. Our next destination is Sandakphu Summit and after that night stay in Sabargram.

Sandakphu is not so far from Kala Pokhri. So after few hours of trekking we reached the peak of Sandakphu. This place is the highest peak in West Bengal, India with an elevation of 3,636 meters (11,930 ft).

After spending some time in Sandakphu we again started trekking to our Sabargram homestay. But unfortunately we received a message that there was no room available in Sabargarm. So we decided to stay in Ahal. Which is near Sandakphu.

Ahal is another beautiful place. After reaching Ahla we finished our lunch. And check into our room. We all tired. The trekking distance was 4KM, but the elevation was so high.

In Ahal we enjoyed the sunset and also the evening view of Kanchanjangha. The beauty of that evening is speechless. In my mind I was just telling myself, Saiyen you are enjoying one of the best moments of your life.

After enjoying the evening, we all together in the homestay common room. Where we met another trekking group. We gathered people from three countries Bangladesh, India and Nepal. We all hang out together for a long time.

As it is very cold outside, we mostly spend time in the room at night. But that day I went out at night and saw the fair of stars in the sky. I sat outside in the cold to enjoy the moment.

After watching the stars, we came to the common room, had dinner together and went to sleep.

Don’t forget to comment how was the third part of trekking. In the next part I will share about Ahal to Phalut trekking. You can read the second part here. And the most important thing, while enjoying the beauty of the places, don’t forget about the environment. Keep your trash in your bag. In this trekking we collected many trash from the trekking road. Thanks for reading.
