Here are several pictures taken by me when I visited West Borneo, my husband’s hometown on December 2019.
During our holiday, We decided to go to Samudra Indah Beach with my kids and in laws.
Located in Bengkayang, approximately 134 km (830 miles) from Pontianak, capital city of West Borneo. We need about 4 hours driving with one break stop to the famous Khatulistiwa (Equator Tower)
We stayed at Kahyangan Resort Bengkayang and the beach was just walking distance from the Hotel.
This is one of a true beauty of Indonesian beaches, not just those in Bali
I’m so jealous! It looks so beautiful there. I could stay on that beach all day long and relax in peace. I’d love to visit Borneo as well. What’s your favorite thing when you’re visiting? How long did you stay there?
I’d love to see all these less known places, I think they are much more unique and one of a kind.
Sadly i just spent one night there due to our tight itinerary. We went there bringing our kids to visit grandma and grandpa. We have so much fun playing on the beach. My kids busy collecting sea shells as I pictured above helped by grandma and grandpa . While me and husband enjoyed reading our favourite book. The beach is so quiet, less crowded and made it as if we own them!
After check out we went to the city called Singkawang and taste the various authentic cuisines there. Of course food hunting is my favourite part
Yes please come to Indonesia, we have many nature beauty like no other and the accommodation… Hmm… What I can say? Its Cheap!
Thanks so much @Ritamega ! I definitely will visit Indonesia some day, hope sooner. I’d really like to experience a completely different culture and history.
We have a slogan in our county written : Diversity in Unity.
Do you know that Indonesia has more than 600 local language? Even our Javanese language has more than 20 variations in their language, Papua has more than 270 variations. With that large number, we are united in one language: Bahasa Indonesia. Thats the meaning of Diversity of Unity, more or less.
Besides beautiful beaches, we have many mountains you can climb too. The most famous is Mount Semeru in Malang, Lumajang East Java. Countless novels are written inspired from this mountain.
Well, lots of fun activities you can do while in Indonesia and the one you have to try is Padang style food, Rendang, awarded as the most delicious cuisine in the world
