Tulip a wonder of mother nature, blown me away in a mesmerizing way that I can’t describe in words. More than a half of a million of different species of Tulips spreading the fragrance of spring at sakura hometown square, located at usuida, sakura city, Chiba prefecture. The entire field filled with red, yellow, orange, pale pink, white, mixed colored tulips are arranged in a array of lines surrounded a Dutch windmill. This tulip festival organized by sakura city municipal organization for the whole April month.
A symbol of Goodwill between Netherlands and Japan, a made in Netherlands windmill called “De Liefde” assembled in Japan was built in 1994 at sakura hometown square as a architectural monument of the tulip field. Its a 15.6 m tall tower wind-driven mechanism used for pumping the water.
Tulip buds can be dig from the field paid with 600yen for 13 tulips (weekday) 10 Tulips (weekend) also can get a shovel and log boots. The lake inaba is interasact point between the tulip field and the parking area. A dog statue was seen. A cherry blossoms avenue was experienced besides the Tulip field.
The wind mill have a little Museum alike store on the upstairs and downstairs. The windmill was surrounded by a lake with a lots of fish. There a little bridge. We have to take off shoes for entrance and can spend time as long we can between 10:00-16:00.
A perfect place for gathering and picnic, had many booths were serving okonomiyaki, scone ice+cream, takoyaki (stuff octopus) , yakitori (grilled meat item) yakisoba noodle and many more. The dutch souvenir shop had many goodies, snacks, with handy prices.
In summer there will be 15000 sunflower plamted the festival took place mid july, the August will have the windmill fireworks of total 20,000 fireworks will be displayed. October brings the colorful 500000 Cosmos will be grounded around the windmill. Every pattern of the season has color at the park. And i loved to return here for every season.
