Saffron (Crocus),is said to be the gold of Greek land. It is one of the most popular and precious spices of ancient cultures, for its aroma, color, pharmaceutical and aphrodisiac properties. Crocus Kozanis is mainly collected (by hands) in the villages of Krokos and Ano Komi, located in the north-western part of Greece, by local farmers.

Thank you for this picture. I do agree with you that saffron is a very powerful flower. It has a great colour, perfect for stunning pictures, but also a great value if you want to give taste and personality to some dishes.
I have started using it lately and it’s value is truly like gold in every sense.
