It’s unbelievable, but true. In Ukraine, in the city of Dnepr, they once made rocket engines for spaceships. The USSR was able to launch Yuri Gagarin into space thanks to Dnepropetrovsk’s YuzhMash. The enterprise developed and manufactured an engine for a space rocket. Today, our country lies in ruins, but the monument reminds us of the once industrial power that was the first in the world to reach the stars.

Das ist sehr traurig, insbesondere angesichts der Tatsache, dass die erste ukrainische Front Ende der 40er Jahre eine wichtige Rolle in der UNO spielte. Und jetzt gehen wir mit ausgestreckter Hand um die Welt und bitten um Hilfe. Alles, was von uns übrig bleibt, sind Denkmäler, und wenn unsere Vorfahren unsere Situation gesehen hätten, hätten sie sich in ihren Gräbern umgedreht. Aber wenn man bedenkt, dass uns der Humor im Blut liegt, wünschen wir dennoch allen, insbesondere allen europäischen Nationen, alles Gute, denn die Dunkelheit wird das Licht niemals verdecken und auch deutsche Sagen und Traditionen sprechen davon. Das Gute gewinnt immer. Viel Glück euch allen!
