Rock Garden Chandigarh

Rock Garden is a popular tourist attraction in Chandigarh, India. The 40-acre garden is famous for its sculptures which are made from different kinds of recycled waste materials (electric waste, industrial waste, home waste and others like glasses, broken ceramic, bottles etc.).

The garden was founded by Nek Chand and thus it is also called Nek Chand’s Rock Garden. He used to collect waste material from around the city during his spare time and shape them according to his own creative imagination to create some figurines and other art pieces and thus this masterpiece was created. The Rock Garden is a perfect example of ‘Best out of Waste’.

Artistic Walls

It also consists of a made made waterfall.

There is an entry fee of Rs.30 for adults and Rs.5 for children but it’s totally worth it. This garden is very big and would take approximately 1-2 hours to explore the whole place. Overall it’s a very artistic and attractive garden. So if you happen to be in Chandigarh do visit this beautiful garden.

Hey @meghanajain nice to see your post.

I had an opportunity to visit Rock Garden once, it was enjoyable. I didn’t thought this garden is having huge chamber, and entry gate of most of the chamber is small. It was like, I had to enter those chambers by bowing my head, and suddenly I wondered myself outside the garden!

Here I’m sharing a photo with you taken during my visit.

Yes some of the entry gates are little small but the garden is very big. It took us around 1-2 hrs approx to explore the entire place. Besides I’m a little short so I dint face any kind of problem. But I hope you’re experience was good. Me and my friends enjoyed our visit.
