The email says I contributed 46 km during May 2026 and that 95% of my contributed kilometers were accepted to Google Maps.
Out of curiosity, I then checked my Road Contribution History on the Road Mapper Dashboard for the same period. According to this, the approved roads add up to 44.5 km, and every submission is marked Approved. In fact, I have not received a “Not approved” decision since April 22, 2026.
Based on my Dashboard records, I expected the acceptance rate to be 100%, so I was surprised to see 95% in the monthly email. I also noticed the difference between the 46 km shown in the email and the 44.5 km shown in my Road Contribution History on Dashboard.
Has anyone else noticed a similar difference between the monthly email and the Road Mapper Dashboard? It would be interesting to compare experiences with other Road Mapper contributors.
Mails are likely based on a set of data extracted a few days earlier. Maybe this partly can explain the discrepancy you identified. Also, timezones and rounding could play a role.
Thank you for your kind freply @MortenCopenhagen, I agree that a data extraction date, time zone differences, or rounding could explain the difference between the 46 km reported in the email and the 44.5 km shown in my Dashboard.
I’m still wondering about the 95% acceptance rate. All of my May submissions are marked Approved, and I haven’t received a “Not approved” decision since April 22, 2026. Based on that, I expected the acceptance rate to be 100%.
Is it possible that the acceptance percentage is calculated before all submissions have been fully reviewed?
This is what I think the problem is. There usually seems to be a backlog of pending approvals. If I do 10 roads per day in a 30-day month, I find that at the end of the month they’ve only approved maybe 23 days. If all are approved for those days, it is 230 roads, but for the whole month I would’ve drawn 300.
So although 230 of 230 is 100%, 230 of 300 is 77%. It is unfair to say my rate is 77% for the month, when the remaining days have not yet been checked and judged.
That makes sense. As of today, all of my May submissions are marked Approved. When I received the monthly email on June 4, some of those submissions might not have been reviewed yet. That could be one possibility. Let’s check a few more monthly emails. Thanks for sharing your experience @tony_b!
Due to past months’ experience, I’m monitoring July now. Today is 31st but approvals are only up-to-date to 24th. It is possible that the 25th might get approved before midnight, but likely this is another month that I won’t have a near 100% approval.
